VT artsalon is pleased to present the solo exhibition of artist Yu-Song, Wong. As the first exhibition of the year, the exhibition titled ‘Teddy Bear Force’ collects works for the past four years since his last solo exhibition in 2018. The artworks contain Wong’s consistently unique painting techniques; in addition, adding interactive installation and performance and visual art to progressively bring out the core message of the exhibition through diverse perspectives.

The exhibition starts from a photo of the artist and his mother taken in his childhood. Wong seems to invite the audience to seek for teddy bears which hide in his artworks. However, during the process of putting together the clues and Wong’s depiction of his past, he comes to realize his self-identity.

The title of the exhibition ‘Teddy Bear Force’ symbolizes the power sealing in the artist’s memory. The artist recollected his childhood memory, the period when Taiwan served as the original equipment manufacturer of the world, expressing traits of resilience and perseverance which lie in taiwanese’s personality at that time. With such thinking as a starting point, Wong combined the concept and his own ideas, creating images similar to a fairytale world. These delicate and amusing characters and drawings in fact implied more details expecting visitors to discover.
