How to present art education? Center of Contemporary Art – Tbilisi –Exhibition Curating and Art Education Simultaneously

To have CCA-Tbilisi from the Country of Georgia for the first time in Taiwan for this international exchange and cooperating with VT Artsalon to organize an exhibition that lasts for a months. This exhibition will hold its opening ceremony 5:00 in the afternoon on the 24th of March. Not only is the purpose of cooperation between both parties to increase the interactions between artists internationally but also hoping to continue one of the main core beliefs that CCA-Tbilisi has had since it started and that belief is “to combine Exhibition Curating and Art Education”, hoping that artists could bring to the society the inspiration of art and would gather the power of social knowledge. Therefore the purpose of holding this event in Taiwan is to express the spreading of this concept to an international stage.

This trip to Taiwan, the CCA-Tbilisi is led by Wato Tsereteli. Along with Wato Tsereteli are three Georgian artists Aleksi Sosselia, Galaqtion Eristavi, Zura Tsopurashvili. These four artists have experienced background in holding and curating exhibitions and the promotion of art education. Three of these artists would hold 30 minute classes during the opening ceremony of the exhibition about their field of expertise from the Informal Master Program. These fields would include creative thinking, video art and agricultural art. Also, in the actual exhibition content, they decided not to bring projects directly to Taiwan. Instead they did research on Taiwan’s society, economy and history beforehand. Then using second hand furniture as exhibition material and creating projects that express the elements of Taiwan after they have arrived at Taiwan.

CCA-Tbilisi has organized the exhibition area at VT Artsalon into two sections. One section is to present the projects created in Taiwan and the other section is to turn it into a space for Informal Master Program classes. Showing related works and records of the Taiwanese artist that are attending the Informal Master Program. The cooperation between VT and CCA-Tbilisi will continue even after the Georgian Artists have left Taiwan. The informal Master Program will be streamed live through CCA-Tbilisi internet and immediately sharing it with Georgia and even the world. Informal Master Program is for those art loving young artists without a stage or for those artists who just want to share the beauty of art to other people. It is a great chance to show artist’s work and spread concepts.

CCA-Tbilisi is a Nonprofit Organization located at Tbilisi, the capital of Georgia. The purpose of creating this organization is to support the Contemporary art in Georgia and the Caucasus area. Through plans of researching the now forgotten forms of art and concepts that the Soviet oppressed and forced to be erased in the past. CCA-Tbilisi acted as the main pivot point of contemporary art in Georgia. There are a few goals that CCA-Tbilisi is eager to pursue: Exhibition events have to be professional, experimental and innovative, conduct art education, research on the art of Georgia and at the same time search for chances to cooperate with international organizations, curator and artists.
