Yunyi Liu obtained her BFA from Taipei National University of the Arts in 2005, Diplom (equivalent to MFA) from Burg Giebichenstein University of Art and Design Halle in Germany in 2010, and Meisterschülerin, the highest artist diploma from Burg Giebichenstein in 2014. Between 2011 and 2019, Liu held residencies in internationally renowned art villages such as CFCCA in Manchester, Künstlerhaus Bethanien in Berlin, and Istanbul, Turkey, as well as Taipei Artist Village, The Pier-2 Art Center in Kaohsiung and.Soulangh Artist Village in Tainan Moreover, Liu received S-An Aesthetics Award (Plastic Arts category) from S-An Cultural Foundation in 2013. Next Art Tainan Award in 2015. Honorable Mention of Taoyuan Contemporary Art Award in 2016. nomination for The 2020 Sovereign Asian Art Prize in 2020
Her works were also acquired by the Artbank of Ministry of Culture and Young Artist Collection of National Taiwan Museum of Fine Arts.
